A 10-speed auto transmission is available with the other engines. The two V8 systems available with the Silverado 1500 are a 5.3-liter, 355-horsepower option and a 6.2-liter, 420-horsepower system. A 3.0-liter turbo, V6 diesel engine is another option, giving you 305 horsepower.

The Silverado 2500’s standard 6.6-liter V8 engine produces 401 horsepower for all trim levels. The turbo-diesel engine is optional and delivers 470 horsepower.

Appearance

These models both show off a modern edge on the classic Silverado design. The Silverado 1500 has a subtly curved, tall nose with a wide grille. This grille is styled with stacked chrome bars framed by S-shaped LED headlights. The sides have deep definition lines and strong fender molding. The larger 2500 has a hood vent, a taller grille, and C-shaped LED headlights. The defined fenders are squared off for a powerful touch.
